Let me remind you. It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person. You are filled with what comes from your mouth and are nourished by what your lips provide. Listen and understand. Learn how to control your language; if you are able to watch over it, you will not be taken by surprise. What comes out of the mouth comes from the heart. And no joy is greater than a cheerful heart. Joy of heart is life to a man; gladness gives him length of days. For if you seek life and want to see happiness, keep your tongue from evil and your mouth from speaking deceit. Instead, be quick to hear but slow to speak and slow to anger. The one who keeps his temper, carries with him much understanding. A gentle tongue is a tree of life. Kind words are like a honeycomb: sweet to the spirit and healthy to the body. Also consider, my dear, the gift is not as valuable as the words which accompany it, but a generous person brings both. So, be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving. And finally, my dear, death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. I say then, choose life, that you and your descendants may live. 24.04.24
