In the beginning, was my Word. I spoke and so it was. I declared the sun by day and the moon by night. It is I who send the light, and it goes, who recall it and trembling, it obeys. Consider the stars, how they shine, so full of joy, to keep their night watches. I call them and they answer, “Here we are.” When I raise my voice, the waters pile up in the heavens. It is I who formed the universe and Israel as well, the tribe of my inheritance. Listen to me, my daughter. Please, listen carefully. Incline your ear and come to me; listen that your soul may live. My thoughts are not your thoughts, my ways are not your ways. For as the heavens are above the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts above your thoughts. As the rain and the snow come down from the heavens and do not return till they have watered the earth, making it yield seed for the sower and food for others to eat, so is my Word that goes forth out of my mouth; it will not return to me idle, but it shall accomplish my will, the purpose for which it has been sent. Yes, in joy, you will depart, in peace you will be led forth: mountains and hills will break into song before you, trees of the countryside will clap their hands. Are you listening, my dear? Instead of thornbush, the cypress will thrive; instead of briers, the myrtle. My glory will be revealed and all mortals together will see it. 26.04.24
